Slight engine knock sounding a bit like a like a diesel?

Hi all

Once again something odd with the Clio 182

My engine is making a strange noise at idle kinda like a diesel sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine, only noticed this noise since my oil was change its a faint knock too if I listen closely does seem to disappear with revving the car

It will be the dephaser pulley that's knackered,
Replace the timing belt and pulley together

That sucks, when this noise accurs is it urgent to get it changed?

Pretty much. Budget 500-600 with belts etc. Have you had the car long?

I have had the car about 2 months now, still fixing the vacuum loss on the brakes lol

There was a "belt kit" done around 2 years ago but Im not sure if they included the dephaser pulley in the kit
