Smaller plate on 182

  1995 Renault Clio 1.8 16v
looks very tacky IMO you are asking to be pulled, up to you if you want the hassle

If I were a cop I would pull you over cause thats my job

I just don't get what looks tacky?! Ha.
I'm usually the first to think something looks tacky if it even remotely does, I just don't see it with this plate?! Odd.

I had the other plate from the before shot on for last 6 weeks, passed plenty of police without any hassle, touch wood they see a clean, well driven car with valid mot, tax and insurance and consider they have better things to do/worse crimes to attend to.
It's a respectable car, don't think it deserves to be pulled over to be honest, not for a front plate, rear plate fair enough, but not front I don't think.

like I said its up to you its your car end of the day

I never understand why you want want to 'push' the police. If they have no reason to pull you then they for sure do now.

You cant say the police have some catching crims to do because they find all sorts in cars that lead them to crimes, drugs etc. Imagine if they never pulled people over who had a massive stash of drugs? Not saying thats you in a anyway just saying..

So dodgy numberplate = smackhead. Love it.

I've seen much worse out there tbh and it's usually the rear plate that gets you in s**t so at least this one is legal. It's not as if the police are going to turn around and think 'crikey, that fellow has a numberplate a few mm too small!' and give chase.

never said that so read again

they can see it once, mark his reg plate then he will get pulled time and time again- up to him IMO

Am I right in thinking your from Plymouth mate? If so, fair enough, I think the coppers in Plymouth are far more likely to pull up cars in instances like you say, but they are a lot less lenient I think than maybe down where I am. I may stand corrected one day, I don't know, but I hope it's not something they can be bothered with, it's legally spaced after all which is where a lot of coppers get annoyed.
I still think if you play with a rear plate it's trouble, my rear plate is all standard.
And at worst I'm hoping that if I got pulled I'll be told to change it, I have a completely standard front plate in the garage and I'll swap back, shame but was only £15 for the plate so no real harm done, hopefully!

You still living in Probus Oli? Not sure if it was kernow-kruz or CSW i rememeber the name from.

I had the small plate (albeit with standard font) for over 2 years on my 182 and didn't get stopped once. I'd be worried that the non standard font would grab attention from the fuzz more than a normal font small one? Only time will tell.

Car looks good though :d

I know its a standard font but does it has the BS standard and the website it came from. Only being anal as if you get pulled hope you wont btw the police will be looking for this

could be different where I live just I have had a car I owned marked by the police. (was a previous owner that got it marked) its so much hassle its so annoying thats all. Every time they flag your number plate they have to pull you thats all. Once marked it can take years to go off their system. If you get pulled once that could be enough to mark your number plate. Or the more times the more likely you will be. Hope it won't just be careful. I know its only a plate but end of the day its against the law so you can't argue with them.

I have also had a neighbour tell the police about my plate when I was 19 on my R5GTT. I had the car 3 days, previous owner but a gay plate on and and I got an on the spot fine through my letterbox. It can happen and sometimes you don't have to get pulled to get fined. Hence why I don't see the point in a 'fancy plate'

Hey bud, kk, god that's been a few years now! Nah long since left probus, that was back when I had my 1.8 16v! Did you used to have a Clio back in the KK days or?

Yeah time will tell on the plate, hopefully it'll be ok!
