Smashed cup splitter.

Hit a rabbit at bout 70mph this morning on the way to work. Was a bit of a thud but nothing else. Got to work to find my cup splitter hanging of with a section missing, the spot surround missing and part of the under tray hanging off. Bumper feels loose on that side as well. Gutted and kinda feel guilty about the rabbit, but there really wa nothing I could gdo.

not good mate, but like they always say its better the rabbit than swerve and hit something and hurt/kill yourself or someone else.

Rabbits are mental!!! they just throw themselves at you.

I hate going through the back roads 1st thing.

get them with the wheels if you can, bad luck bunny. Pisser that you have to mend your car now though, grrr money money money.

hi mate sorry to hear that..at least the rest of the car seems ok...will have a look around and see if i can get you a cheaper one...ikf not wot about the carbon one from ktec?:)

Yeah definitley one of those psycho ones lept across the road, didnt have time to even swerve or anything. Carbon one does sound good. Just really liked the splitter. Goin on Holiday in two weeks so moneys tight, will have a look whether I can mend the undertray/bumper myself. Might give k-tec a ring just to tempt myself.

Cup Splitter is a piece of plastice that sits below the bumper. Very subtle and very expensive, but finishes the front off nicely.

Eddd, it is attched the bumper by 8 (I think, maybe 6) self tapping screws. Dead easy to do, took bout ten mins to fit, I did mine myslef.

adtmits:

I have done exactly the same damage as you!

The splitter is £150 odd! But the undertray that connects the bottom of the bumper to the subframe is only about £15.

Makes me feel better about the undertray as I hadnt got round to pricing it. Had a look on the K-tec site and the carbon splitter is still under development

Have removed the remains of the splitter and given the car a good wash, looks a lot better.

Bstard. Id reversed and made sure i got £120 wortha damage outta him. rabbits normally bouce off the bumper or flattened by the wheel. But suppose at 70mph its quite an impact. Sorry to hear that...Lucky it wasnt a deer!!

Ripped mine nearly clean off on a high kerb. Its bloody low to the ground had a job getting it back on, could hardly get my head under to see what i was doin.

Jim, mines lowered 40mm as well so you can imagine that there was really not room for it to get under the wheels without actually smashing the splitter.
