smashed engine mounts

...car sounds like a ak47 when driving..even just normall...


so replaced the top engine mount...no luck...adjusted the dog bone mount...no luck...

any ideas??

was thinking maybe the gearbox mount?

A good start might be to get a mate to sit in the car and ride the clutch with the handbrake on so the engine rocks then you can see if there is too much movement or where the noise is coming from.

yer..was the gear box mount.. the bolt has turned to dust..also the rubber is torn....oh and the dogbone mount has bent!

just had new dogbone at renault and still bad think its the unde battery mount. Where does this get damaged. i took battery out and looked at this one like a cabbage becuase i don't know what im looking for unlike the dogbone and top mount.

The gearbox mount attaches the gearbox to the subframe to limit movement sounds like Ben hadn't put his back on right ;-)
You can get uprated ones but £500 each or there the CUp racer one which although have part number need to be brought on the continet and arn't that much cheaper than £400.
You don't need the gearbox one most hybrinds don't use it.
The dogbone mount is under the back of the engine attching it to the bulkhead
The top mount is east to see its on the top of the engine on the driver side.
The battery mount is the one whilch the gearbox bolts to the battery mount poiht on the car its under the battery and what the battery sits on.

yer... the bottom one to..

the part which has gone on mine ian.. is the rubber ovel under the battery...i snapped the bolts and ripped the rubber (must be all that power lol)
i know theres a 182 near my house witch has been rear ended..so ill be taking it off that..

but the dog bone mount is 30 from renault..there different on the mrk1 172 and the mrk2 's

sorry for the dubass question, where am i looking? which part is the subframe exactly, im no sure of the name of all these parts

lol.. take the passenger wheel off..look at the arch then peel that flap which is clipped on back...u will then see the black l shaped mount on the left of the arch under the box bolted to the frame.....

not the black cover which sticks out,...thats the 5th gear cover!

I reckon its the gearbox mount which is underneath the battery- think ive replaced it about 3 times now and it needs doing again.
When the dogs bone mount went before the knocking was at the bottom end of the revs whereas the gearbox mounts are when you push your car right up the rev limiter.
Apparently k-tec racing do a set of uprated brushes for the dogs bone!
