Ive recently had sum new disks and pads fitted thanx to a good lad called richy. When i bought the pads from ktec they were only a cheap jobby £30 ish and the disks are std renault. Before having the pads fitted they were sat on my desk with the comp. When my girlfriend came up she pointed out that my room smelt like rotton fish but worse.
While Richy is fitting them i asked if they will smell like this when hot but he wasnt sure. Anyway he mentioned to bed them in for 200 miles which consists of light breaking and not coming to a complete hault in them. He said to do 20-5mph then 30-5mph and so on till 70-5 mph but not coming to a complete stop. I did each speed a few times on wot i thought is the best place which is a 1mile straight country lane called brampton straight mile. safe enough to do 120 on so 70 is nothing.
Turning around after this and f**k me wots that smell? i put window down its the pads. I nice warm smell of rotten fish. So anyways i can be bothered to get different pads so i bought an air freshner for the car today. Anyone else shared this problem??? they are gonna stink when i really start hammering them once they are propperley bedded in.
