Smoke and Chugging like a train!

drove about 3 miles in her last night and then suddenly the car started chugging and there was alot of smoke, the smoke appeared to be comin from the left hand side of the engine (as i stand looking over the engine), could this be an oil seal, is there an oil seal around here? the car starts and turns over fine! does anyone have any idea what this could be?

any help appreciated

could this be an injector ring or injector seal gone? i have just had all injectors replaced, if so do i have valid grounds to take it back to renault?

Doubtfull its an injector as it would start going "chuff chuff chuff" & it'd sound like the steam roller from thomas the tank. It would sound like air 'escaping' in the engine bay??

When you say black smoke is coming out of the engine, are you sure you don't mean the exhaust? If it is in the engine like you say it could be an oil leak burning the oil, get some pics up if you can, and I'd take it to a garage to get a look on the ramp. Could possibly be a turbo pipe come off, if your turbo pipes are full of oil :quiet:
