Snow chain / The French Alps

  Liquid yellow R26 F1
Looks like i'm going to Val Thoren early January.. :)

thinking of flying to Geneva and hiring a car from there.. i.e. a large estate to carry 4 people + luggage....

Anyone driven with snow chains..? how good are they on snow, having never used them.. I emailed the car hire Co. and said thery couldn't guarantee them supplying snow chains.. but have been told all petrol stations sell them..?? is this the case..

Thanks for any help.

i've used them, very good in the snow, IF you are sensible and don't expect to be going 60mph with them. didn't really need to use them much as the roads were very well ploughed
