Snow foaming

Whenever i seem to snowfoam my car it there is a lot of orange left behind on the floor and i dont think it cuts through as well as what it should.

Ive been using the citrus snow foam available from i4detailing, also using a karcher pressure washer with the yellow snow foam lance attachment.

Any ideas?

Orange being the colour of your snow foam solution Jon?

Have you had any paint work done recently? Remember the masses over over spray we found on your rear bumper that came off on the pad and piece of clay? Could be that??

I think ive been very very very stupid with this. I read the bottle for the first time the other day and realised it says to fill the foam pot up with 1 3rd snowfoam solution and 2 3rds water. Lol.

So i think thats why its been looking orange (colour of the solution itself)

only taken me a year to figure this out. iFail

I just snorted. Sorry.

how much damage could/can this of done to my paintwork.

Feel like a D**k now. Should of kept hush hush

Would just like to say, all cheques for the money I have saved you can be sent to James Durbin ;)

I personally put in about an inch of snow foam then fill the rest of the bottle up with warm water.

Will not do any damage to the paint work chap, just your wallet :( May have also stripped some LSP due to being quite strong, but not necessarily.

The citrus snow is quite strong in itself I think?? IE diluted normally. Whenever I use mine I always have to top up wax etc as it strips it off

Thicker the better IIRC? I make mine half snow foam and a drip of water, thick and clings well

Not necessarily chap. More snow foam = more used, rather than being better. The curve of how well it works against how much used really tails off over 1/3 of the snow foam bottle filled.

Ooops, didn't read the Citrus Snow Foam bit...

In that case, likely to have stripped LSP Jon lad.

You will have stipped the LSP, but unless you left it on for half hour and let it dry you shouldnt of done any damage tbh.
Everyone makes mistakes mate.

Do you mean it literally takes the wax off that has previously been applied? if so, whats the point lol

usually foam it leave it a couple of minutes till it runs off (which it does pretty fast ) then rinse in and wash it as i normally would. Always top up with sealants after snowfoaming and sometimes just for fun :)

cheers guys. saved me some pennys :)

No whats happened is Jons used super strength concentrated foam, and not diluted it. If you use it correctly it doesnt strip any wax off at all

^^^ Unless its the type that does strip wax off IE like citrus/acidic based snowfoam. Technically the one I have from I4D says

" will not strip wax if used correctly."

But I find it always strips ot no matter what the dilution rate (as in if I use 1/4 inch it still strips it off) and then the "foam" isnt as good as when you use an inches worth. I think il be buying some other stuff maybe ph neutral stuff.

I personally use PH neutral foam. I know then I can use as much as I need. If I need stronger stuff I add some APC into the mix. This way there is a still a nice consistency of foam, but it has the power of the APC (depending how much you put in).
