Someone KEYED my car

Never posted a thread before but i need the help. Woke up this morning to find someone had purposely keyed my car starting from bonnet, onto front passenger wing, passenher door, and rear panel ending at the rear lights. Absolutely gutted!!! its so deep on my black gold 182 that it looks like a white line all across it. makes me so sick just glancing at the damage!! Reported the vandalism to the police but as usual, they say theres nothing they can do about it.

what shall i do guys and how much you reckon for repairs? Is it worth a claim on the insurance though my excess is £650,

any advice is much appreciated!!! as if i dont have enough to pay for now christmas is round the corner

prob still cost a fair bit to get repaired but not as much as your excess

So harsh mate, sorry to hear.... do a search on here for good bodyshops/painters in your area, get a few quotes etc. They can do genius these days, and as above, i'd imagine it wont be more than your excess, or much past it and at least you dont have to make a claim.... putting some pics up might get you some more advice too...

making a claim wont affect my insurance as its classed as vandalism cover with directline. But its the fact of paying excess of £650. will try get some pics up but never done it before and dont know how to??? going to some boydwork garages to get some quotes but i reckon it will be close to my excess amount. cheers for help guys

Don't claim through insurance unless your over 30 with a million protected NCB because otherwise they'll make you pay for it over and over again for the next 3-5 years.

same as you m8 looked at my car one morning and it had been keyed its a gut wrenching feeling. pure scum ive got a titanium 182 needed the rear quater and dorr painting £160 not a bad price. when youve had paint repairs done on youre pride and joy its never tha same as before good luck.

i had my black gold keyed twice.

I took it on each occasion to a chipsaway style mobile repairer - the second time was at Halfords where they do scratch repair.

It cost £100 per panel, and came back looking like new.

Sorry to hear about your car being keyed bud. These f*ckers should be strung up by the balls for doing this. I had my V6 Cavvy keyed a few years back and was raging so I know how you feel. Don't let them get you down. Halfords £100 a panel sounds like a reasonable solution.

thanks a lot for all your replies and help. luckily, ive found a place that will repair but im still bricking it on whether the job will be any good!!! thats probably another one of my worst nightmares. Imagine getting ur car back and the paint is so badly done. thanks a lot peeps, let ya all know when its all repaired. But its never going to be the same as original paint

Ouch thats so unlucky, i proper feel your pain. think once is enough and i will actually cry if it happens again! ive had to have mine repaired as i cant drive around with it, everytime i look at it it makes me cringe. dont know how u can live with it there to be honest! but i dont blame u for not getting it as it has happened to four other cars. i would look for them and chop each finger off slowly :rasp:

Arghh gutted for you. I know how you feel, it happened to my 182. The people who do it are total scum. Takes seconds for the b*****d to do, costs hundreds to fix.

Mine cost £250 for two panels but looked good as new, and apparently racing blue is a really hard colour to match.

Gte yourself on Detailing world and ask about. Touch up pen, some wet n dry and time with the PC can work wonders fella.

i had my punto scratched in skeg, only little on bonnet aswell. it was parked on ida road, thats a main street, cant believe someone would do it there, p****ed me off but heh i have me new car now

And feel for those who have had there car keyed, some idiot keyed the boyfriends civic type from front to back on the passenger side, poor lad he was so gutted!

i didnt have my car keyed somebody ran over my whole roof and left 4 massive foot marks on it. Had to get my roof reskinned. I have now lost 3 years no claims its heart breaking trust me. Ill post some pictures of it later.

Shocking.I just got keyed aswell. Car is getting fixed up at the moment. £200 for passenger door and rear quarter panel resprayed. So i reckon yours might cost in the region of £400 - £500 to fix
