Just wondered if any members have bought this CD changer pack? - Its the one with the motorised front panel and Halfords charge £399.99 for it.

I ordered one online for £279.99, it should be through by the weekend!

Anyone got one!?

poor choice mate. sony are really one of the worse brands in terms of car audio.

i find their stuff sounds sh1t and is fiddly to use. I sell audio in halfords and i usually advice people to stay right away from it. sorry to bad mouth your new purchase, hope you like it.

Sorry mate but Ive got to be honest as well...I also sell audio in halfords...(yes I do realise we are over priced but bear in mind well also free fit it normally plus when yr out on a saturday with yr mates crusin round the car shops who do u go to for advice about yr audio?!?!)



I advise my customers to stay away from sony...their build quality is sh*t and Im always sending the f**kers back 4 repair...dont sound that bad though!

Ahhhhh, Nuts - It better not be crap!

Problem was this stereo was for my fiance and shes already got a control stalk on her steering column. The Renault dealers told her to go with Sony only and basically this was the best one I can find.

s0ny stuff is the dogs danglies..

I appreciate audio quality (I spent £400 on a set of cans(headphones) for my work!)

I will ONLY buy s0ny stuff, okay its slightly more expensive for the same spec item, but I have never had 1 single problem with their brand, and will continue to buy only their brand (unless s0ny dont do the item I am looking for)

I listen to my s0ny headunit in my car (the black mask with 10 CD changer that I have had for over 2 years now !) through s0ny speakers and a s0ny amp.

The only part of my ICE I am not happy with is the Kenwood sub which I plan to replace asap (I was sold this item buy a halfords/Ripspeed guy).

I get into work and Listen to mp3s on my s0ny Viao laptop (while I work on my server).

Basically you have bought yourself a great headunit that gives out a great sound !

and for a great price too cause I paid 399.99 for mine

Saying that I wouldnt buy anything from halfords. We fit it and were easy to get to. However we do charge crazy prizes.

Glad to hear you like sony, however try pioneer and alpine and you will see what your missing matey.

I have tried pioneer, didnt like their stuff (maybe its improved recently though)

Alpine, hmm I always thought they were too overpriced, but yes I will admit Alpine was very good too and given a lot of spare cash could be persuaded to buy an alpine HU

mate i like sony stuff to i have a vaio (c1) but their audio is rubbish

Alpine rules for headunits dont bother with anything else (unless its that superb nakamatchi (cant spell!!) or becker)

Focal for speakers

and jl or hifonics for subs

as for amps then its

alpine, jl, hifonics, or if you have to go cheap kenwood

alpine entrylevel stuff whoops sony in the ass but is nice enough to buy it lunch!

Halfords have improved so much but you need to get good staff in ALL stores not a few, and start charging properly!! free fitting my ass!! that dosent mean you can charge 35% more!!
