Sorting the manky 182 steering wheel....

Today I decided to sort out a few niggles with the interior of the car...

Sorted that damn rattle (torx bit in the heater motor!) and removed the steering wheel. I also removed the entire dash just to see how easy it was, as I want to change all the LEDs to white ones at some point.

Main aim today though was to remove the steering wheel so it can be sent off for re-trimming. It's not in that bad condition really, but is sticky which does my head in. Thumb grips are in really good nick.

I brought a standard wheel with no airbag for £15 delivered off fleabay so that is on now until the wheel is retrimmed.

Airbag came off quite easily really after I had disconnected the battery and let the power drain out...

Now looking forward to the re-trimmed wheel being done so good bye to sticky hands! I'll post some pics once the newly trimmed one is on....

Yeah will be good to see pics - managed to get a good condition wheel for £25 with both thumb grips but even that is melted around the edge!

Hopefully it will be back in a week or so. My wheel's thumb grips were perfect, the wheel had just started to melt a little and go sticky. Going to have the grips removed and not even bother though as they are a liability! Going for a Megane R26 look wheel, so hopefully it won't disappoint.

Although the services offered on here (in adverts section) looks good in quality terms, I don't want black leather as almost nothing in the 182 interior is black. This place is going to match the leather to the airbag, and is hopefully doing it to my spec so it should be a little different. I'll post up some pics when it is back, and provide contact details if I am happy with the work.
