Sound deadening under the bonnet

Hey guys.

The sound deadening under my bonnet is falling to bits.

Do bog standard mk2 clios have this or is it only on 182 and 172s?

If a normal mk2 has it then there's a good chance I'll be able to get one cheap from a scrappy.

Pretty sure all Clio's have this. I ditched mine after it began to degrade. If my bonnets wet and its cold i see steam which was a concern at first but now i consider it normal.

My daughters poverty spec 1.2 doesn't have any bonnet lining. The engine isn't big enough to make any noise though!

Lol ok fair enough, seems like it could be certain models. It's more the heat I'm worried about damaging the paint on the bonnet?

It seems 1.2 8v and 1.2 16v don't have it and the rest do, it's all the same part so will.swap over easy

Impreza’s have it as well, mine was badly perishing so removed it after speaking with a mechanic who specialises in these cars and experienced zero issues.

Rip it off and forget about it. Sure the cup doesn't have it anyway.

It wont cause any issues binning it, but worth having on a road car to silence the agricultural sound of the f4r
