I thought the same with the berg mate after dinging the fornt end..."fix it ,sell it, break it, fix it, sell it"...it's become a parts donor for my track build + odd bits for the cup from time to time....keep it...sort it...You'll soon love it again.

@Filters I need to find a garage that's willing to do the can belt and auxiliary belt plus fit me some new coil overs and maybe some solid top mounts any recommendations I don't mind traveling since I was gonna give ktec a call for the work but if there's anyone closer and better so to say I'll go there

Only place I go chap... SJM automotive over in Glastonbury. 07969 124504...you may have to ring a few times as Dan is normally pretty damn busy.

Cheers buddy I got a quote off him he's really competitive in prices just gotta get new coilovers before I can book it in with him as he's going to fit them too, just can't decide which set to buy -_-

That's the hammer mate, had my belts done by him recently and a timing check...cars drove much better since.
There's plenty of choices for coilovers...if your using it mainly on road have a look at the b14's :up:

Been meaning to get my GTi on the rolling road as hopefully at some time this year it'll see itbs so will be nice to see where I stand at the moment.

Well its been over 12months since I was last here, how time flies! I sold my Berg 172 a year ago after owning it for 4 years and getting it the way I wanted, I went over to the dark side buying a 300hp Subaru Impreza RB5. Ive not 'gelled' with the Subaru since buying it even after wanting to own one for aslong as I can rememeber! I don't know what it is with these clio's but hell i've regretted selling it. Luckily i've stayed in contact with owner and he's finally agreed to sell it back to me and the best part is he's only put 3k miles on it since he bought it ... Any way I'll be selling the Subaru very soon and will be picking up my 172 Saturday.

Thanks bud - you know the pain I've been through with this thing! I'm getting excited now and I don't even know what the final result will be yet. I'm not after stupidly high power figures but I think it will be pretty tasty and the quality components used should hopefully see it last for a while so I can enjoy it I won't lie, I've loved driving our Type-R (still a capable car and I'm a fan) but I have genuinely missed being in the Trophy. Looking forward to seeing what you decide to do with yours... just don't be blaming me! :innocent:

Less of the "who moi" malarkey tempting us all with your shiny goodness and minty mint parts/build.
I do indeed know the pains matey, if anyone on here deserves a top spec motor after battles with thier car it's certainly you. I can't imagine the difference it'll make to the fun of driving it (you know I thought it went well before, even when popping out of gear at Llandow!) more so against the Type-R, I do hate on them now and again but they do drive well (found that out curtosey of Mr @msremmert) good egg him.

The plan was to go low boost with the engine from the berg once planted in to the MSA spec shell but...I've found a few faults with it now that have put me off a great amount. To the point I may well strip it for spares and start with a new engine/block.
I should of listened to Mr Potter and removed the cams + ecu from it when I had the chance Live and learn as they say.

It certainly won't be ready for CSF now :triumph:
But, I might boost the cup instead. Maybe...which will be your fault.

@Filters, yeah you've seen it there too haha... The RB's are now fetching £6k+... There's only 2/3 on eBay now for example on the whole of the U.K! @MJRacing This one is up for £7k Ono as its been loved all its life with a huge folder of history and has some nice subtle added extras.
