spark plug



Yep can be common.

Helicoil the head and stick a new one in.

Cylinder 3 I bet.

You might be lucky and the threads undamaged so just stick a new one in.

Get the injectors checked out if you've ever thourght its a slow 172/182.

this is the second time think it is the same plug. not looked at it yet cant be bothered with it now!! any chance of the engine being knackerd? might buy a new head for it if its not to exspensive.

New head means new cambelt new seals etc just get the plug helicoiled. Chnaging the heads going to be expensive/time consuming.

Get it checked ASAP

the first time it went it cost bout 800 to fix including the timing belt. prob be same again. i wont be doing the work to big a job for me. pi55ed off

never come across this problem before. Wonder if people are tightening up the plugs enough

Whats the difference between Helicoils and time serts? both just tap in threads arnt they?

I had a mate whos R5 did this, he had it helicoiled but it happened again! I'd personally get a new head but I've never heard of a time sert so check that out first!
