Speakers problem for Clio RTE mk2

  Clio mk3
Hello forum,

I have just purchased a set of 6 speakers, 2x tweets, 2x mediums and 2x subwoofers (Auna) from ebay. I'd first like to say that I'm new to this so please bare with me :)

I removed the stock front speakers from my Clio, added a filter each on both sides and connected 3 speakers on each side. I am pretty sure the speakers are connected properly, in the right order and right polarities, I checked all the possibilities. Basically, they all work, there's no static noise or any disortions, the only problem is, they are awfully quiet, if I dont have my head between the subs I cannot hear any bass if I try to turn the volume to the top the sound gets really bad. All the speakers say they can handle max power of 1200 watts, which seems pretty good as opposed to the stock (30 watts). At the moment I cannot get better sound then I did with my stock speakers. By now I figured out that I need an amplifier. My questions are, is the amplifier essential? What kind of amplifier would I need? Is it hard to fit it in and in case it really is, how much would I have to spend to get it properly fitted?

Thank you very much for any responses
