Speed sensor problem

I am in the process of selling my 2001 1.2 rn with about 60279 miles on it. I think the speed sensor has gone, the speedometer and mileage stop working for between 1/2 to 2 miles before working. These are the only two not working on the dash, how much would these be to fix or would it be possible just to sell it on but decrease the car price?

Should be a simple case of fitting a gearbox sender unit... new or used part will do the job and neither cost much and are DIY jobs.

all you have to do is "pull up" your old one from the gearbox and push down the new one

When taking the old one out is it nessesary to drain the gear box oil as when removing the old one before the oil came out but had a basin to catch it. Or was that the wrong part? It was located under the car and on the side almost of the gear box? The clio is early 2001 before the facelift if that helps.

Thanks for the help lads, selling the car on and don't want the buyer to think I have been tampering with the mileage gauge as there is on 60500ish on it.

the speed sensor is at the top of the gearbox!!!
no need to go at any oil or anything!!
