speedo/clocks not working 172 ph2

my speedo on the 172 ph2 dont work, just sits at 0mph and the revs sit at 3k rpm all the time even when the engine is off when you go the revs do increace but makes it look like your doing crazy rpm. everything else seems to work fine on the clocks just the speedo and the revs.

could this be a speedo sensor ?

and is it the same sensor as a 1.2 16v as i have one on my old car i could check if this is the problem?

Sounds like it. Check the dials are working by doing a self test. Hold trip button for a few seconds, then turn key to ignition point. If dials go crazy, problem is elsewhere

lol dont think the trip computer works either infact, along with a long long list of other things im going to have a nosey tonight. looks like the dash has been put back together and some parts are not pluged in properly.. the fun begins

i also forgot to mention the milage seems not to go up at all either ?

ah f**k HELP needed, done what you said and the needles move around so i dont know whats rong with them

any ideas ?

the mileage wont go up as the speedo isn't working.
the speedo might be a unrelated problem.
what year is your ph2??
early ones had this type of speedo on top of the gearbox.they often go so check do you have this

also try disconnecting the battery for 30 min
