sprayed my ph1 engine cover..

  02' PH1 172
So i finally did it, sprayed my side strips at the same time but made a royal balls up of that, so really dont want to mess this engine cover up.

I read somewhere that if you leave the heat cover stuck to the bonnet on, that it rubs the paint off the engine cover, so i started to take it off, lost the first pin/plug into the engine bay somewhere, and then i started to think that if i take the heat stuff off, the engine area might get too hot and mess things up a bit. is this the case? surley that heat cover is there for a very important reason?

any input will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Rory

no the engine wont get too hot if anythink i think it would be good for the engine to disperse heat quicker out of the engine bay. i think its there to prevent the bonnet from getting too hot.

I have a close friend who painted his rocker cover with ordinary paint and laquer on his honda looks lovely, Has had no issues with paint melting etc..

If is there to prevent the bonnet becoming too hot...could there not be an issue of the bonnet paint bubbling?
