i did 3 coats on mine and 3 coats of lacquer. But remeber to wet and dry betweem everycoat and on the last coat before laquer, even though it looks dull it will still turn out sweet Also wet and dry inbetween lacquer coats but not on the last coat :
2 cans of colour coat will be enough for your bump strips . And you don't need to sand down any colour coats unless you have any runs or blemishes . After the colour is dry lacquer it , thicker rather than thinner . Its a bit trial an error . If its too thin , it has a tenancy to dry with a slightly matt finish , if its too thick the chances are it will run .
