spraying towing eyes arghhhhhhh

whats the best way to spray the towing eyes sport ones.... ive had to do it 3 times now but its quite stiff to fit in to the car and when i do this and screw it in the paint always chips off, ive put a cloth over and used a screwdriver to sutn it but still it comes off it really doing my head in now......

oh and worst of all my dad bein the dick he is screwed it in further without me knowin anbd scratched my fuckin bumper yes im mad at that!!

Should be fine spraying it :/

Mask off the thread so the paint doesn't get stuck there when screwing it in, sand down, prime, spray, lacquer and done? As long as it's lacquered and dried (not just touch dry) you shouldn't chip any off.

All sorts of problems there. Overspray, uneven spray because you can't get around it easily enough, etc..

alot of wd40 on the hole first? and on the eye. even vasaline to. 2 peices of cardboard taped around it either side cloth over that.

Shouldn't take too much effort on such a small item. Depends how well you sprayed it.. and you'll probably struggle to get an even finish if you don't go right back to metal.

Best bet is to start again. Shortcuts often lead to an unhappy result.

ive sanded down the eye ring and sorted the stifness out haha so its red n silver looks decent like! think i might just leave it like that tbh looks sweet haha
