Springs move when I turn the wheel?

Just changed both shocks and springs, used new bearings as well. Now the springs are seated correctly but when I move the steering left/right the spring jumps around? Any ideas what could cause this...

Do you mean it moves around and out of its seat? They should move a little with the strut. Are they lowering springs in standard shocks?

Is the car on the ground or still jacked up?

Lowering springs, standard shocks.

When its jacked up and I steer left/right the springs unseat themselves, there were ok when the car was on the ground but I think they have started moving again now

sounds like the springs are too short for the shocks/the top mounts aren't assembled correctly
