squeaky brakes/ droning sound on 1993 rt

  Mk2 Golf GTI

1) My brakes are squeaking really badly at the minute. i took the car for a free brake check and they said everythin needed cleaning etc. Parted with £25 as i didnt have time to do it myself but they still squeak. i took it back to the place and they stripped it down, cleaned everything again and put copper grease on the backs of the pads but it still squeaks now. ive had the car about 4 months and it must have had new pads and discs before i bought it but surely they should have bedded in by now. what else could be causing this?

2) When i get up to speed a loud droning sound starts and my cabin sounds like im inside a plane. The drone doesnt die down with the revs but stops when the car comes to a halt. could this be a problem with the drive shafts?

cheers

i know its prob what you donw wanna hear, and chris will prob tell me its b****cks, but someone once told me some cars you just cant ever sto pthe squeak. i mean, short of replacing the larger items, like calipers, pistons, etc... if everything really has been stripped, cleaned and greased properly then i cant see anything else that needs doin?
