i havent a clue?! im confussed need help please?! its dont it since i got in! never got any worse! its a very strange noise?! so are we thinking shocks or springs folks please!!!!! ;)

Squeaky clean mate! Drive it though some mud and all will be made better lol

Might cover up some of that orangeness too ;)

i dont think so! its when you slam the boot down or put stuff in the boot or as i say when the hand brake isnt on enough it makes the noise!?! :S if you push down on the back of the car it makes a squeaking noise?!

^^ i do and it stops it! but when i push it down at the rear it shouldnt really squeak should it! i know the hand brake could do with tightening up at its service! ;)

Get someone else to push down on the car and see if you can tell where it's coming from Paul?

I'd imagine the springs and shocks are the only place it could be coming from really.. just a process of elimination!

^^ thanks folks! :o is it a common noise when the handbrake needs tightening up? :S - its worse when my car is parked on my drive (which is a bit of a hill) :o but im sure it coming from the springs or shocks?! unless its just the brakes trying to bite in but loosing pressure (ie needs tightneing up) but why squeak?!

You answered the question in your first post, it's just the handbrake aint on enough, and when you load the car the suspension compresses which causes the angle of the axle to change which puts pressure on the brake pads causing them to slip.

Leaving in geat FTW

i do leave it in gear! but i still dont know why it would squeak?! so is it just the hand brake that needs tightening up!:)

Is it the same noise as when the handbrakes not on enough on a hill?

Loads of cars do it, it will be the pads vibrating cos there put under strain.
my 172, 182, mums suzuki, dads zafira, bro's scenic and my old corsa all did it.

Same noise as mountain bike discs make when there on lightly

P.S don't blame me if anything fails and you die.

:( so when the handbrake is tightened do you think the noise will go away as it the pads wont slip (so stop the noise) :S

If you leave it in gear with no handbrake on does it stil make the noise?

happens to mine to as as been very well explained in a previous post ^^

If the handbrake is tightened you wont need to click it up as much. Safest and cheapest option is just pull your hand brake up properlly. LOL

Mine used to that when going over speed bumps. Maybe it's due to the huge weight loss in the cups, acheived by not giving rear passengers head rests.

LOL! yeah squeaky cups ftw! haha

wish i knew what it was! ill have my cable tightened up and tell them when its next in for its service! :)

Mine does it when the handbrake isn't on enough. Just pull it up more!!

If it still does it when the handbrake's off it will be the shocks, my old car did it when jacking it up and I noticed a cup doing the same last week.

^^ just been out side to my car and pulled the hand brake up more and it stopped it! (i often dont pull it up much as i leave it in gear) i think thats why id does it! :(

pull pull pull ftw! :) thanks fellas :)

Just don't use the handrake? If it's parked on the level don't see the point.
