SSD: Solid State Disc Drives, your thoughts please

  BMW Z4 3.0i
It seems to me like these are inevitably the future. I've never used one but I have to imagine they speed up a computer no end. I spose one day when we're all using these there'll be no need for separate RAM.

I've only just looked into them briefly for the first time as wanting to build a system in the next couple of months, but they're so bloody expensive. Anyone got any ideas of timescale for affordability? I'm thinking 30-40GB for under £100 would be my requirements. I'd basically have OS and games installed on the SSD and then all shite like music and p**n would be on the USB drive I have now probably if I didn't want to fork out for a separate internal drive. Does anyone think I'll see this price in the next 12 months? 20GB might be enough, maybe. I'd just want games to run like s**t off a shiny shovel.
