ST3 Remap from Chipped UK

Hi,

Has anyone heard about the ST3 ecu remap available from www.chippeduk.com?
They claim they can remap my 172 cup to 191bhp and put a extra 20NM at the wheels.
Basically they send you a handheld device that you plug in to the port and download the standard software, you email this to them and they return to you with 2 remaps plus the standard which you can swap and change when ever you want.

Whats peoples thoughts to this and has anyone heard any horror stories etc?

a 172 engine will be between 155 and 165 bhp as standard...there is no way in this world an ecu remap on its own would gain 26bhp+.

To see 190 + you will need a set of Cams thrown in.

Does sound crazy doesn't it. Have a look at their sight and see what you think. I have searchedc the web all morning looking for reviews.
Nervous to do this at home on my drive just in case all goes tits up and no more clio

theres no way it would make those gains even on an engine making the power it should make!

Avoid imo, because if they are making claims like that then its prob shite. Just buy an RS Tuner from FastChip. Does the same thing, but from a respected Renault Tuner.

I have been looking at jamsport as well but there online store seems to always be down. They are only across the road from me so i might pop over and have a chat with them and see what they can do.

i've got a st3 box for sale, but for a vw golf. The obd lead can be changed

I had my golf done by them, the results were good. The aftersales are even better, i said i wasn't happy with the map, so they did a custom one for me at no cost.

No chance, a remap on the RS model be it 172,182,197,200,V6 will NOT yield any more than 5bhp!

Chip tuner have told me if they dont get my car to 182bhp they will not charge me and that is on a Live map on the rollers not a silly generic map! My car is running 174bhp at the moment so i think thats as realistic as it gets tbh.

Louis, bear in mind you can very easily "fix" RR figures. Only way to prove would be to use another RR and go there after the map to verify.

I've seen as much as 47bhp difference between a certain ex tuning company and another RR!...Go figure! lol

LOL, They could just alter some settings on the rollers or put some extra air in your tyres.
