Standard 182 cd/radio

Only just bought the car and on motorway yesterday i was doing over 75 and the radio starts crackling is the the norm if so would people recommend a new stereo

Ain't normal no. Pull your head unit out and check the antenna ports securely in and all the other connections before considering a new head unit, unless you just want a new one anyway.
