Standard 182 suspension Vs. Cup'd??

  ST
I test drove a non cup'd 182 and felt it quite soft......but the 182 that i've just got has cup suspension and it feels a bit more stable than the non cup'd one did at higher speeds?

Your views please.

Alan.

Ive got a non cup and seems very stable to me and i test drove a cupped one a while back. I presume the difference would only show on track etc...

Think its quite solid already and the state of some of the roads i live near its just as well. lol

Don't I f**king know it mate.

lol.. it terrible its it!! I hit this huge pot hole on the way back from uni that i thought i would have damaged the car but car seems fine. Went back a couple of days later to take a pic just incase and it was filled in. grrr

All that money we are spending on road tax and they wait until the potholes are the size of craters before fixing it lol.

Yeah.. i was thinking bout the tracking but just before it hit the hole i lowered my grip on the wheel so it turned freely. And checking on the bypass the car runs dead straight so thought i would be fine.

Do you think i should still have it checked?.. I think farmer's autocare do it for free.

Could do i suppose...actually got 30mins free now and its only just down the road. As long as the shocks are fu*ked as this seems to be the clio achillies heel lol...

I get a bit of body roll in mine (un cup'd) but I was driving long distances when I got it and am happy with the ride quality, it handles just fine too. Not a patch on my 205gti though!!!

Suspension on mine seems fairly hard, but the ride is suprisingly good. Doesnt seem to chrash over bumps in the same way as my 309 and 205 GTi used to.

I've got a standard one - never driven a cupped one, but the suspension is still pretty firm, and the handling still pretty good. I guess you dont miss what you've never had. The standard car has noticably firmer suspension than my Mk2 Golf GTI did, and is a lot harder than my old Fabia vRS, which was soggy IMO. It was not as firm as my mates Ibiza FR before he got the suspension done though - that thing would knock yer fillins out.
