I got a 98 mk2 ph1 1.2. it had alarm as most others jus a plip key that u point to infra red thing by rear view mirror. On my car an on my mates mums which is excact same as mine but 1.4 there is a white sticker in front window sayin this car blaa blaa fitted with thatcham catagory 2 alarm.....surely not or is it just a really old form.....i thought these were really top quality alarms, hhmmmmmmmm

Think what your writing mate before you write it . Or people probably won't reply with a sensible answer or even reply at all if they don't understand what your sayin' .

I think what he's trying to say is that his car is the same as his mates mums , she has a window sticker stating that it is fitted fitted with a cat 2 alarm , and he wants to know if it is a cat 2 alarm as he probably expected it to be a cat1 alarm .

1.2 dont have alarms i think 1.4 has cat 2 so does 1.6 rxe 1.6 si/rsi 172 has cat 1 alarms

yeah thats wat i mean....mine is 1.2 but has the sticker, same as the 1.4.....maybe previous owner stuck it on. Does it not have an alarm lol didnt no it has the flashin light and the plip key thing (central locking)

oes it have the light down by the gearstick and sensors on the side of the windscreen? If so it has it (it was an option). Othweise just try set it off you can tell if it has an alarm.
