Standard Clio 172 Alarm query

The clio Im buying is a UK car(See "Ive paid my Deposit" thread), and hence comes with the standard alarm, armed by they keys etc.

However, when looking at the car, I shut the doors and opened the bonnet to check the oil. The alarm kept arming itself and beeping coz the bonnet was open.

Is this normal behaviour? Should I be worried?

There is a feature on the 172 where if the doors arent opened within 30 seconds of being unlocked they lock themselves. It could be related to that?

Im just having a quick look in the manual for you.

A manual is, I think, the only thing missing from the car.
Ill have to ask for one I guess.

Im just going to pop down and see of mine does it. Ive never actually noticed!!

I have a spare manual!!

[edit] yup, it locks itself after 30 seconds of being unlocked, but no door opened.
