standard crossovers

am i right in thinking mk1 clios come with these as standard? ive fitted sum tweeters and 17cm door speakers, and they have this resister in the wire to them and was wondering if this affects the crossover? hope this makes sense!

Do they? Mine just have a wire going straight to the HU, but then mine is standard model wiht NO extras(useful ones anyway)

Is it a resistor or is it a smjall ciruit, only need about 3 components to make a hig / low pass filter (this filters out hihg / low frequencies), enabling you to connect it up to a standard HU.

its got plastic round it but looks like a resister i didnt know if this would effect the crossovers job, its an rt model btw

no clios have a crossover fitted

all they do is split the cable then run them to each speaker, another reason why the OEM kit sounds so crap

best bet is to get your own speaker cable from the head unit/amp to the new speakers, will sound far better as each speaker is only doing the job they are required to do

They will probably just has a capacitor to stop bass, thats what the resistor type thing is.
