Standard Headunit

Car  Clio 1.4
I got it in atm but cant find the bits to plug in my wires from the amp it is most annoying any help?

Also the gromet at the passenger footwell is very small i cant get the power cable from the boot through it to the battery any suggestions?

thanks :)

Yes it will work with the standard head unit, you need to find pin 5 on the black connector. pin1 is arrowed and 5 is the one three to the left of it.

The layout is:-

8-6-4-2
7-5-3-1

many many many thanks now i have the problem of still gettin power the gromet i have is very tight and i cant get the cable through any help?

I assume your using the bonnet release grommet? What size is the cable? Its mostly just brute force and ignorance to get it through, though lubing it up with a little bit of washing up liquid or something like that helps a lot.

You will need a sharp instrument and some fairy liquid. There is a special tool for doing this, but I have in the past used a coat hanger or welding rod.

Tape a thin piece of wire or string onto the coat hanger and push it through the grommet. Once you are through you can tie the thicker cable to the thin wire/string and using the fairy liquid, pull it through.

This is the special tool i use, but its not worth you buying one for a single job.

I just read your other thread and I truly don't understand how removing the battery terminal can lock the steering and the clutch.:S

You can not get a shock from a car battery but its always a good idea to disconnect it when working on the car in case of shorting out wires while you are working.

yeah its just all frooze, ill reconnect it tomorow n see if it works, but i have my new headunit fitting on the 26th 8|
