standard unleaded

nope!!! ive tested bp ultimate and shell optimax and they offer no difference to me in performance or mpg!!! JET petrol at 73p per liter does it for me

optimax is 79.9 near me, always use it unless forced not to....dont rate bp ultimate at all, I really was disappointed even though I expected it to be very good, so its not all in my head!!!

Funny this! I was just stood at the petrol pump for 5mins thinking should I? Shouldnt I?
I didnt! Now Im glad !

Have used it in my Saxo and it definately makes a difference both performance wise and economy wise. But as its only a VTR so not that high performance in first place!!!!

  Mk IV 200 RS trophy

my 172 has only ever had 98 ron fuel put in it, or so said the first owner, so i have only put it in, and at 79.9p is not that much more then normal unleaded round here....!

  Mazda MX5 1.8

nah i dont bother using 98 ron fuel....... just wack in the normal stuff! most garages i go to dont sell super/ultimate etc.........

the only place i dont go is supermarket petrol stations (for some reason)

  Burgandy 174 sport t

went to the shell garage the other day and eh 83.9 for optimax as appose to 77.9 for 97ron super unleaded!!

  Megane225FF

i got frightened by the "USE 98 RON FUEL ONLY" on the filler cap, so i darent put anything else in...

The exs valver could run on both, and running it on Super made a world of difference - a lot smoother running and less engine noise. She once said "its running really well recently", to which I replied "thats because the last 3 tankfuls Ive put Super unleaded in"...

still on first tank, so dont know on the cup yet. Did try Optimax, Esso Super Unleaded and standard 95 RON stuff with my ex new Mini Cooper. Optimax was far better. Smoother in power delivery and better ecconomy. Not sure if it gave better performance, but at 79p felt it was definately worth spending the extra £1.50 per tank.

If you wanted economy you could have opted for a 1.2 Dynamique. If you want performance its going to cost you.

!!!Cheap Bast!ds!!!

I cannot believe some of the tight f**kers on this site,if you work it out it costs about £3.40 more to fill up on optimax by me and then you buy a performance car and moan about the cost of 5p a litre.

slippers, pipe, edition of granny weekly and a diesel tdi are words that come to mind

YOU TIGHT GITS

  2005 Audi A3 3.2 Quattro

Come to SA

You can fill up on 102.6 Racing fuel for only 44p a litre

Regular costs 33p a litre

Sorry bout the bragging but africa does have some advantages ;):D

I get much better fuel economy from using higher RON petrol, crap unleaded (95RON) being the worst, Optimax and BP Ultimate being the best.

SI.

I use normal unleaded in my 172 ! Maybe I am a tight git but the nearest Shell garage is well out of the way !

If I decide to fill up on Optimax now does it matter if the Unleaded and Optimax mix ?

  Was a Clio 1.8 16v

We could still pay less duty on petrol with-out people jacking our cars. ;)

We have got FAR too many Police, just the allocation of Police resources which is fuc*ed up!

yea the nearest shell garage to me is like 8-9 miles away and when i need some fuel fast its too far! and also im a tight 18 year old driving a 1.2 :D
