right ive put anew engine in my 172 and connected the starter up and it wasnt engaging so i went a got a new1 and its still doin this what wud cause the starter not 2 ingage? it bumps fine n starts

Something not connected up properly. Check the old starter works off a battery charger/battery

Dirty battery terminal or broken large wire try using 1 jump cable from batt to starter to check? Also check spade connector for exciter wire on starter prob loose. Thats it only 2 wires on starter.

are you getting 12v to the big heavy wire when you turn the key???? if no its may be a fuse ?
