When car was being started it would start then it was like starter was still engaged to flywheel this nosie was there for about 5 seconds then would go , then with in a night the problem got worse and then when turning car off its like it was over running wouldnt stop for about 4 seconds, but then the starter was getting hot and started smoking turned key off and still wanted start up. Had to remove battery lead to cut car out/ stop the starter trying to work.
Went to start car next day and the car just clicked and started smoking.
Replaced starter today went put battery lead on with out key in the ignition and wanted start up on its own. Checked relays under bonnet next to battery area pulled each one out then putting lead on battery and still didnt make any diffrence just wanted to start. Is there anymore relays for starting /ignition ? Or any ideas ?
