Ste Burns's Track car project

As I mentioned a while back I've been looking to buy a cheap car to use for track days to save any damage and unecessary wear and tear on my 197.

I originally set about looking for a mk1 Clio and browsed the pages of PistonHeads looking for a suitable car, to which I had little success.

Word soon spread between friends that I was on the lookout for a track car, and I was approached by a young lad who knew someone who might have just what I was looking for!

I must admit that at first sight of the car I was a little dissapointed, but the car was in much better condition than first thought. After getting to know the owner a little better, we made a deal and the 205gti was mine!

The car was in desperate need of a clean, it had stood a long time and was covered in crap and the paint was so flat it looked maroon rather than red! ...So I gave it a clean and got going with the T-Cut, and got my new project car looking a bit better...

I've got a fair bit to do yet, but it shouldnt be too long before I'm ready for the track! :)

wtf? That's pretty much what it was built for lol.

I am aware of this, but unfortunatley my 197 has cost me too much money to risk slamming it into the armco - and if I do I'm walking to work with an even bigger dent in my wallet!

  wait and see ;)
thers a lad down the road from me who had a totally mint 205 gti 1.9 its absolutely gorgeous

If you're worried about being able to get to work, surely the money you're spending on the 205 would cover a hire car and most of the other costs incured if you crashed. (Although you could just get track day insurance).

But then it's your money, your car (that you've already bought;)) so it's fairly irrelavent.
