Steak knife to gearbox leak

  2003 MKII 172
Car is a 172.
The other day, going home from work I managed a puncture (just b4 i got home). So saturday took to the tyre guys and get it fixed, it turned out the small piee of steel was the end of a steak knife which stabbed through the rear right tyre. it was pretty funny having everyone at teh tyre shop gawking at it, talking abotu being stabbed at the back.

At the same time, i needed an alignment, how ever 2 things discovered. I've got bits of oil coming out of the gear slector, or the surrounding area. There was a new seal put in just over a year ago. Also, the steering wheel is double centering again, and the steering mount or something moves when I turn the wheel, about 2mm or less. Are there any aftermarket bits like the K-tec engine mount bushes to fix teh steering mount moving problem? And also the gearbox leak, which happens to a few cars... at least some of the Australian ones. any fixes on those?

Cheers

Karl

Gear selectors always leak so long as its not bad just top the gearbox fluid up ever service.

What do you mean my double centering though?

You need to see what moving realy could be any number of things. IS the car responding ie the wheels moving can you heave somehting catching is it both left and right?
