Hopefully want to treat myself before xmas. Looking at spending upto £300 on a system. My preferences would be loud but not stupid, and obviously good fitment etc. So out of the few that seem avaliable which one would you recommend? And any vids would be mucho appreciated.

From experience standard is the way forward fit is not great but at least no one looks at you like "boy racer". A remap and filter will improve driving experience more imo.

BTB is supposed to be one of the good ones, Paul had one on his and the quality if second to none. Slightly out of your price range at £350 but worth the extra if you can stretch!

BTB all the way, had one and was excellent quality and gave good gains. Worth the extra cash and is actually a propper 'stealth' system, i.e you cant see it, unlike the one k-tec sell which looks stupid

Eh??? I have the ktec system and you can hardly see it at all...
The ktec has been very good for me, sounds good but isn't too loud. The BTB does seem to get better reviews though, that will be my next stop if I ever have to replace it.

i love my k-tec but purely as my car is just a weekend toy, not that its overly loud but if i was using the car daily i would just go standard, even standard with a decat wonder if that would sound ok.

I agree with Martin 172 comments about the K-tec stealth.

At least with a standard exhaust and slight induced induction e.g caf/itg you only have noise when wanted i.e when you toe it which is more than can be said for a ss. Imo each to their own im getting old and sensible perhaps.

I like a standard zorst and de cat.Its how i ran my 182 and 172 Cup. The standard (Renault) exhaust is fine, you'll get feck all power with a stainless, i'd put good money on some losing power. Granted the standard unit is made of tissue paper though

And will rust through and fall off in 10 minutes. So how many grandchildren do you have? :rasp:

find me a case where one has falen off in 10 minutes? stainless lasts longer than mild, its a fact, renaults exhausts generally dont last as long as some other mild ones however they will last a few years, give power and are light, its not a system like some others where its restricting the engine

It obviously wasn't a serious comment.

They're known to be crap, surely that's indisputable. So why spend more money on one that's going to last less time?

The Btb uses a secondary hanger so you don't get as much stress on the pipe that goes over the axle.

The only k-tec stealths I've seen have hung really bad so they must have had crap hangers on'em.

From running just a de-cat only with a standard system it's certainly interesting, car sounds more boosted due to the increased pressure. Eventually ended up disintegrating a backbox and all of it's insides. When I switched to the Btb cat back coupled with k-tec de-cat the car was definately noticably faster on top end

Noise wasn't intrusive, sounded awesome but quiet even on a 400 mile journey

BTB will be getting 350 of my great British pounds if and when my ktec dies. The craftsmanship blows everything else I have seen away.

Although I've never seen a yozza....

because its not a restriction especially once the cats removed, the tiny bit of power to be gained from the stainless is probably canceled out with the weight! so i still stick by my original comment, if its a daily driver i prefer the standard system. if its a toy then the aftermarket system
