Steering twitchy when cornering, especially at high speed

I've looked through all the other threads and found nothing.

Recently the DCI has developed a horrible twitch in the steering which is particularly prevalent at higher speeds and going round right hand corners. I can only describe it as the car actually veering and it feels like the steering has varying assistance. It's particularly noticeable at higher speeds and on the motorway under constant steering you can see the wheel wanting to move.

Had a fresh MOT on Saturday but has been happening for the last couple of months.

For those that don't know my car it had genuine shocks, track rods inners and outers, new ball joints.

Suggest you have the alignment and geo checked.

My old Trophy felt similar; very unstable and the alignment was well out - this could possibly be the case on your car given your new track rods etc. Most certainly worth a check and £50/£60 to get the car set up.

£60 for tracking?
Ruislip Tyres in Ruislip charge me £15,and its always a good job.
It`s polite to buy them a drink though.

my bad, forgot to mention I had the car on a hunter about 2000 miles ago. The tracking was a touch out but nothing too bad. Of course it's all aligned now.

To finish off this thread. The n/s ball joint which was less than two years old was totally ruined. Had nearly a cm up and down movement in it.
