Steering wheel adjustment

Hi.

Just fitted a new 182 steering wheel. It seemed straight but after taking it for a drive it was slightly off-centre. So I've whipped the wheel off again and tried putting it back on turned slightly further clockwise. I've read people saying that 'you can't put them on wrong'. Well you can, because mine still isn't right. The one I took off was fine. Anyone any ideas what's going on?

Out of interest. An I alright driving the car with the airbag unplugged?

Yes, you were all right, you have to be intellectually challenged to put it on wrong...but I managed it!

On closer inspection there is a notch on the wheel that marries up to the stalk/spigot. How I missed that, I really don't know.

Anyway, the wheel is on and straight! But the airbag light is now also on. Brilliant.

How come the airbag light is on if it's plugged in?
