Stereo Experts out there-refitting question

[R-Sport.]

Right I set about refitting the standard stereo today-

as you can see I thought this would be straight forward-

X2 block connectors & the radio connector-

So I connect them all up & hey presto the red light comes on & it accepts a CD -
Good so far-

Now because this hasnt been in the car in an age I was expecting the code thing to come up on the dash-
( I havent got the code but obviously that can easily be obtained & reset)

Problem was no code on dash- whenever I pressed a button it just beeped at me-

any ideas folks-

Idid notice on the second photo that at the back of the connectors there are 2 more small connecting blocks- are these important- there didnt seem to be any more connectors within the loom-

How long did you wait to see if 'CODE' came up Steve..? Had a similar thing on my 172.. had to wait a couple of minute for it to appear.

I hadn't removed the unit btw... only the batt had been disconnected but i put in the wrong code too many times..

well it was plugged in for a good 5 mins but on & off a few times-

I take it it would have to be the full amount of time?

did you have just the 2 connector blocks like my pic-?
Is the radio thing on the right the only other thing required?

buried deep in the dash you will have a 3rd mini ISO plug for the stalk and display,this is bright yellow so youll know youve got the right one

Sorry Steve.. i'd slip the unit out now to check, but I dont have the pins to do it bud.

I think I just left the unit on while I consulted the owners booklet, and the 'CODE' just came up eventually.

CODE 0000- which is good because it doesnt neede a reset-
Pity the front page of the service book doesnt have it in it-

yes- found the code in the GAMMA book- unusual-

all working- pity the stalk isnt working though- had to manually do it whilst inputting the code on the main pad-
oh well- cd's work!!!
