Steve Jobs passed away. RIP

Rip a guy that revolutionised the mobile phone industry according to bill gates on the news this morning

Re: Steve Jobs Dead

And thus it starts, trending on twitter just now

iHeaven, iClouds and the worst one, iDead :(
Would it be wrong of me to suggest that we try to make these jokes about Steve Jobs dying a little more PC?

I've got to say I was shocked to hear the news. I really thought he was taking time off for treatment.

Never thought he was that bad. :(

True genius of his age. Will be sorely sorely missed.

Rip Steve.

RIP. :dapprove:

No one will ever come close to what that man achieved in his field. A true visionary and a life to be proud of.

Really sad news.

Despite it looming for a while, I had hoped he would get through it.

Great man. Not without his flaws, but the vision he had changed the world. Not just in computing, Pixar and Disney have been overhauled because of his dedication and hard work.

I am completely gutted. I won't lie, I actually shed a tear. Steve will be immensely missed by so many around the world. I can honestly say that Steves contribution to the world changed my life.

Steve was a genius, an one of the worlds greatest innovators. I really can't believe he's gone :(

Rest In Peace Steve, "stay hungry, stay foolish" - you will never be forgotten.

Although lets be honest. Wozniak > Jobs

''I think Apple should give serious consideration to renaming their soon to be launched iPhone 4S to the iPhone 4Steve in recognition, RIP Mr. Jobs.''

Quoted from Sky News comments page.

If that's serious that would be utterly ridiculous, and I don't mean that in a bad way either.

Thankfully it isn't.

Personally I'd like to see a tasteful film of his rise to greatness (if anyone knows Steve's history you'd know its not been easy). Or maybe a decent documentary. I've preordered his autobiography, should be a great read.
