Sticky Caliper??

  2002 Clio 172
A few times in the past week when I have gone to drive off first thing in the morning, release handbrake and go. Have noticed that there is a noise as if something was stuck and then releases. Is it that one of the brakes is sticking on and the noise is it releasing under force? If yes how do I sort it, any ideas?? Thanks (mark2 172)

I use mine everyday, just seems to do it once left overnight.
Is it a case of stripping the caliper and cleaning it?

^ As Fred said. If it rains or your brakes are wet. When they dry out the pads nicely weld themselves onto the discs which means you get a bang where the seal breaks iwhen you drive off.

Best thing to do to be sure not to cause any trouble is if they look rusted then just rock the car gently back ond fourth until they are free then start up and drive off.

Just my 2p
