thats proper shocking i guess they may have knicked it with a flat bed or whatever then tried to get it started when they where somewhere quiet, realising they couldnt get it to run they burnt it out? sounds most likely to me

i'd love them to try and steal my car how i would sit there and laugh unless of course they made any scratches

thats what i say f*cking scum someone knicked my mums astra gsi and it was lush had 18's on and £400 quids worth of headunit and multi changer, came out of morrisons and it had gone my mum was in tears she just had the engine rebuilt after the cambelt went and she said it drove like a dream

found it burnt out in hartlepool i had £200 worth of bmx parts in the boot to

Echo what others have said. Very lucky that it was burnt out. My fathers car was nicked and got recovered from a ditch with damage. It ended up being fixed by the insurance so he got back a car that he had looked after but someone had ranted the f**k out of it for a few days. Also it was never right once he got it back as it would always warp the disks on the left hand side for some reason.

If you are going to have to claim on the insurance and lose your clean record you might as well get a new car out of it as opposed to a repaired but sh*gged car.

True but it's a calim which will have to be declared, plus there's no 'other party' to claim the costs back from.

Can,t chop there hands off, the goverment will have to give them lots more compo and holidays.

How long was the car owned for? Did he have 2 keys? I wonder if some one has had a spare one cut?

He hasn't had the car long at all tbh no longer than three months, yeah he has two keys.. didn't know you could get spare keys cut thought you had to buy them from renault.

Really sorry to hear that.
I only had my 1.4 RT a week when some knobbers broke in, stole the speakers and burnt it out. It was my first car. I got it brought home, i rebuilt it, I refused to let these pikeys beat me, i felt i owed it to the little car aswell.

You don't need the keys to steal the car but its just easier for most criminals to steal them this way.
