strainge noise

hi my ff 182 has a strainge noise coming from the engine area

engine its self is fine but its like the time my centre box rattled when the inner box came loose (normal clio problem) renault did the center box as normal under warranty is there anything that could rattle up by the engine

i cant explain the sound
but as strange as it sounds it makes the car sound a bit electric


what could it be


any ideas

check exhaust manifold gasket.

it does it throught the revs

bit worryed now

thought it might be a minor loose part vibrating

will get it to renault asap

at the same point in the revs or all over?

had a sim sounding prob. mine made a electric/buzzing at 2.8K on the revs. any gear/speed or with no gear selected.

could just rev it to 2.8 and it would start buzzing. would be gone my 3k tho.

stopped after about 3 weeks and hav'nt had since

if its buzzing...then dont worry about pulleys etc...if it is a constant noise that increases with pitch as you go faster and then decreases as you go slowly.... then id go for the pulley issue.

yeah its all the time and gets louder as i rev it

its going to renault tomorrow(robbing b******s)

they think its either pulley,alternater,waterpump bearings

anyone know which of these are most com

why do i buy renaults its only done 20000 miles from new and is only a few months out of the warranty :banghead: :banghead:

Tensioner most likly the whole lot can be proble, but tensioers are terriable.

They should be able to isolate it.

Yep they have to change the aux belt maybe the cambelt if its that tensioneners or pullys which are the problem. there no space in there hence the high labout cost the car bumper comes off, head light off, etc.

sounds like you might have to have the cambelt and aux belt done while they replace pulley/tensioner :-( big £££££
