Strange noise from engine!!!

Does anyone know why when i am stationary the engine makes a high pitched whine sort of noise???? Its done 32k and is 4 year old so the aux belt will need changing ... could it be that causing the noise?? It goes away soon as i move but when I'm stationary it starts again....... or could it be the water pump???

Does it do it whilst you rev the engine whilst stationary?

no, it goes away. Its only when the engine is idle.

sounds like tensioner bearing... but it doesn't go away with revs... maybe your just not hearing it...
