Strange noise when i cut the engine...?

Car  Clio Sport xxx
I have a 172 (first clio, and first modern car) so what im about to say is probably normal, but piece of minds n all...

Anyway, happens most of the time when i switch the engine off, lasts for about 4-5 seconds, and is a kind of wierd winding down wurry noise and gets quiter until it stops. Hard to decribe, but if you can imagine a space ship landing... sounds abit like that lol!!

Been told already that its the aircon winding down, but i've recently notice it happens without the AC being on... thus the post.

Cheers

Pretty sure my car makes the same noise you're describing, never bothered me. Being as there's a few moving parts in an engine I'd imagine it's just them slowing down and stopping?

noticed it on mine as well, just things powering down and stopping.

Was in the RAF and when you had electrical power switched on when working on a jet, if you shut it off when in the cockpit you could hear all sorts of whirring slowly dieing off as servos etc powered down.

cool no worries then. I guess im used to my older motors where it was JUST an engine under the bonnet. Never noticed it on the Mrs' 1.2 dynamique though...

Yeah its something to do with the AC, mine only does it if its on though. The dynamique probably doesn't have AC does it?

I've found it to be the fan, its a two speed jobbie that runs at a slow speed all the time the AC is being used.
