streeing noise

Hi

i have noise fom my streeing , its happend all the time when the car is cold after 2-3 miles its gone

HI does it sound like a belt slipping? maybe the powersteering belt is on its way out? or the fan belt?

Does it sound like a high pitch screeching when the wheels are on full lock?

I get that, screeching nosie as your turn the wheel and its worse when your on full lock.

Either slipping fan belt or power steering belt - mine does it sometime when cold & wet on startup if i need full lock...goes after the engine has warmed up tho...

the sound like knocking when u play with wheel left to right

its happend only when the car is cold !!!

If its knocking/banging, might be a worn ball joint or snapped wishbone -something to do with the suspension - if its coming from that part of the car....

Check streering rack fixings to bulkhead, steering arms, track tod ends and steering column UV joints. Could also be a problem with CV joints on the driveshafts. Check tht the CV gaiters are not split. If it is this the noise will tend to come from one side and be worse turning in one direction. Slow full lock turns (~10 mph) in a car park normally show up this problem creating a slow knocking noise. Try this when cold and hot to see if there is any difference.
