anyone else have any problems stripping the rear of their clio?!

them damn two bolts holding the isofix bar are damn tight. almost feels like ive rounded the one off!

what did you do to get them out?

I snapped a Halfords 'pro' ratchet doing mine.

Used a wheel brace and a scaffold bar in the end. c**t of a thing to remove.

ive tried the spanners, ratchetts and using my foot can only get it out so far! just feels like its rounding off now :(

dad's coming over in the morning with some grips - hopefully that will get them out.

yeah me too! sat on one side using my foot to help push the spanner - proper weakling ffs.

is there enough room to thump the ratchet with a soft faced mallet? providing it's a reasonably large bolt head and your ratchet isn't too cheap, that'll often start problem bolts

nope no problem, just rounded off 1 bolt, and the other came out a treat :)

if your dads coming over in the morning, soak it in wd40, itl be easier then.

Seriously, no need for brutality, just turn it back a turn for every 2 turns. Slow and steady wins the race.;)

aye, violence might not be the best idea if it's already started rounding. not sure you'll get much more leverage with grips tbh, although shouldn't slip off so easily

right..soaked in wd40 now hopefully that will make some difference.

yeah i was going slow and steady but was actually taking forever. most of the backs out now just these two bolts and rest will come out.

hoping the grips will work a bit better other im knackered.

i used mole grips

was temped to drill mine haha

but came eventually, i put it back in with copper grease

is the other end of the bolt exposed under the car? clean the threads up and WD that if they are

(sorry, misread and thought you were trying to start the bolt, hence hammer suggestion)

i guess that bolt wont have a torx hole bit in the top of it then.

Centre of the bolt is torx 30 or 40 I think. I think I used the wheel brace from the spare wheel to loosen it and then unscrewed it with my fingers, was easy and quick.

Major issues with the main bolt for the rear seats. I rounded off the torx hole and its stuck halfway out atm.
