Strut braces v’s speed bumps

Need a bit of help people

I live in an area with lots and i mean lots of speed bumps -

What i wanted to know is - would fitting strut braces to the car mean that the speed bumps would do less harm to the susspension or would the extra rigidity put more stress on the susspension when going over them and cause me more problems in the long run

Any help welcolm

Paul

A strut brace removes any horizontal movement, whereas speed bumps put a vertical stress on your struts, so a strut brace shouldnt affect it

shouldnt make any difference, not unless you take the speed bumps at silly speeds..lol.

Eh.....speed humps wont affect the use of a strut brace at all.

Strut braces remove multi directional flex, not movement as per se. It keeps each strut top the same place relative to themselves.

ON std road cars, depending on he shell rigidity, not alot....road tyres dont create the forces that really warrent one. But they do help a tad.

sorry for hijacking this post hehe..

hmmm, i still wanna get one, coz i h8 it going round a long sweeping bend with the car feeling unsettled and a bit wobbly  from all the latteral movement.

also, wud a front strut b a bit dangerous wen taking bumpy corners in lanes?, as the less movement by the car wud make the it kind of roll over the bumps?

A strut brace again doesnt remove any movement. It reduces flex, and flex you cannot feel. Its all about reducing flex to the degree.....it wont reduce roll.

And its not dangerous on bumpy roads.

ok thanks.

one last que, becoz of the reduced flex, then will the handeling be even heavier than it is now on my 35mm lowerd sus?
