Strut tower

So was changing my top mounts today for these new powerflex black series ones (bearing in mind i changes the top mounts for oe ones about 1000 miles ago) and on the drivers side its started to wear away on one side

Any ideas on why this is and if its a big issue?

The holes are rarely round from factory tbh.

I'm sure i remember somewhere that Renault dealers used to open up the hole a bit to 'cure' the common top mount knocking issue...

So im guessing its not really a big issue then? Just doesnt seem right though as surely it would be allowing extra movement.

They're not solid mounted from factory, so they will always move, the only thing holding them in underneath is the weight of the car. The bit on top just stops them from falling out really when jacked up 😂
